Intercoat pioneered the use of water-based technology well before the anticipated environmental legislation in the late 1980’s. Now, 2 decades later, following proven low VOC coatings supply, the latest range of water-based lacquers provide the most effective measure for compliance to environmental standards both now and in the future.
High build general purpose acrylic lacquers
A range of low VOC lacquers with ease of application and good clarity. They are suitable for most wood substrates.

Lacquers meeting the BS6250 Severe Use specification
For exacting resistance requirements this range of lacquers is an environmentally friendly choice as well as having the advantage of being a single pack material. It is also designed for coat on coat application, negating the need for a basecoat/sealer, but if high build requirements exist then a sealer is available.

Single pack water-based polyurethane system
A fast drying single component water-based lacquer based on a polyurethane acrylic dispersion, with good chemical and abrasion resistance and suitable for light domestic use.
The material is touch dry in 60 – 90 minutes and available in a range of gloss levels. The most popular version is the 40% gloss version, product reference 15288
