Stains

Intercoat provide an extensive range of stains, both solvent based and water based. The range also includes patinas and fillers for more specialised work.

In addition to the standard colours, which are held in stock, bespoke matchings can easily be carried out.

Solvent based Light Fast stains

A large range of light fast stains are available which are touch dry in 20 – 30 mins and can be over coated with all standard lacquers within the Intercoat range.

Solvent based Naptha stains

Naptha Stains offer improved grain definition when compared to standard light fast stains. They must be over-coated with specific lacquers in order to achieve the correct finish please contact Intercoat for further advice. They are touch dry in 40 – 45 minutes.

Water based stains

In order to comply environmentally many customers opt for water-based low VOC stains. There is a large range of colours available offering light fast properties and are suitable for most wood substrates.

They are touch dry in 30-40 minutes and they can be over-coated with any lacquer in the standard Intercoat range.

Solvent based Patinas

Patinas offer a means of achieving distressed effects on new wood are spray applied and can be used for shading. They are touch dry in 30 minutes and they can be over-coated with any lacquer in the standard Intercoat range

Wood and Liming Fillers

Intercoat offer a range of natural and pigmented grain fillers for rag application on most veneers. They can be over-coated with any lacquer in the standard Intercoat range and within 4 hours they are touch dry.
